Who was AJ?
AJ’s life radiated a generous heart and an unwavering dedication to help others. He graduated High School in Virginia, served in the Air Force, and later switched careers working for UPS. His lively, spontaneous energy- especially through dancing and singing- brought joy to everyone around him. And if a Michael Jackson song came on, that meant the party was really about to begin. What made AJ so appealing was his genuine enjoyment to perform, despite having no formal training.
AJ was also a strong advocate for mental health awareness with empathy and courage that made a lasting impact on others. Diagnosed later in life as being on the high functioning end of the autism spectrum, AJ used his life experience to connect deeply with others, especially those often misunderstood, overlooked, or battling their own life challenges. He dedicated himself to breaking the stigma around it. Despite facing challenges with social interactions and relationships, often perceived as social awkwardness, AJ ultimately embraced his unique self and found strength in his personal journey. By embracing his true self, AJ learned how to build friendships his own way and discovered his true calling- uplifting others!!!
AJ checked on his friends often; He gave generously to others; Supported and always offered words of encouragement; He stood by those he cared about during their hardest moments and brought light and laughter wherever he could. In AJ’s world, everyone was a friend, no matter the race or gender- no one ever felt like a stranger.

“My heart has broken 1000 times over for OUR son who will never be able to call him or text him or video chat him or even SEE him again. Jayden is the one and only person Aj put above everyone and himself to make sure he was well taken care of. Aj was an absolute treasure of a person. He was a best friend, a fantastic father, even a hype man (when needed).”
“The only thing I can promise from this point forward and beyond is make damn sure Jayden remembers just how awesome his dad was/is for as long as me and his bonus dad Jason are with him”

Why just why you were such an amazing friend and soul. No matter how many times me and Cass would crash out at work you’d always tell us to keep it pushing and you would start singing a the weekend song or Michael Jackson and it would get us all to sing and get in a better mood. I will never be okay with you being gone. Thank you for everything I’m glad I met you and got to build memories and for introducing me to all my current girl-friends because you knew I’m very antisocial. I will definitely do what you been telling me this whole time “Just go out there and make new friends tf it ain’t that hard!!
