Move Like AJ Inc. has established three heartfelt scholarships in loving memory of our son, AJ. He was deeply loved by many—his joyful spirit, infectious laughter, and generous heart left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Through these scholarships, we honor the vibrant pieces of who he was. Two of the scholarships are named with songs by Michael Jackson, whose music AJ adored. Whether through dance or song, AJ connected deeply with MJ’s work—it was his way of expressing joy and connecting with others. These scholarships are not just awards; they are reflections of AJ’s passions, his journey, and his legacy.

Move Like AJ Memorial Scholarship This scholarship celebrates AJ’s boundless love for freestyle dancing and singing. If music was playing, AJ was dancing—unapologetically, joyfully, and often inspiring others to join in. Whenever a Michael Jackson song came on, everyone knew to look for AJ—he would be freestyling with a big smile, lighting up the room.

“Heal the World” – Creative Hearts Scholarship This scholarship recognizes a high-functioning student on the autism spectrum who uses art or music as a meaningful tool in navigating life’s challenges. It is inspired by the life of AJ, who, despite the difficulties he faced, achieved independence—working full-time at UPS, living on his own, supported himself financially, and built friendships, even when sometimes genuine social connection didn’t come easily. AJ faced a world that wasn’t always understanding or kind, yet he met it with resilience. Music was a source of joy and comfort for him. Though he had to remain cautious of those who might take advantage of his kind and generous spirit, AJ never let that dim his compassion, warmth, and willingness to share his heart with others. This scholarship celebrates that same strength, creativity, and spirit, supporting students who are walking a similar journey.

“You Are Not Alone” Scholarship This scholarship award honors a student who is an advocate for mental health awareness. AJ was passionate about mental health and often spoke openly on his TikTok and Instagram about the importance of supporting others and breaking the stigma. This scholarship carries forward his voice and advocacy.

Each of these scholarships carries a piece of AJ’s spirit—his creativity, resilience, and his unwavering kindness. Through them, we hope to continue spreading the light he brought into our lives and the lives of so many others.
